Weapon (Whip), Rare (requires Attunement)
To the North of the lost hills lives a tribe that rides large flightless birds native to the area. The birds are astonishingly quick and agile. While them might not be able to match the speed of well-bred horse, they could easily outmaneuver it.
To stay light and flexible in the saddle, the bird riders wear simple leather armor and carry a dangerous whip they use to wreak havoc on the battlefield. Frightening magical energy is designed into the whips to give them even more of a bite when they have captured an unsuspecting foe.
As an attack actions, you may use one of the following abilities:
- Trip: The target must succeed on a Strength Save (DC 12 + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone.
- Grapple: The target must succeed on a Strength Save (DC 15) or become restrained.
- Squeeze: You can cause magical energy to surge through your whip and tighten on a creature grappled by it. The creature must succeed on a Constitution Save (DC 15) or take 1d8 force damage.
Additionally, if you are mounted, you gain +2 to attack and damage rolls. Creatures that you grapple with the whip while you are mounted can be dragged behind the mount if they are the same size or smaller. A dragged creature must succeed on a Dexterity Save (DC 15) or take 1d4 force damage for every 10 feet they are pulled.
