The bodyguards that protect the Royal Family and many other high nobles are outfitted with a simple breastplate. The armor doesn’t offer anything special in regards to personal protection compared other similar equipment. In many cases, it is more heavy and cumbersome because of the added weight from outlandish liveries.
Where the Royal Guard’s armor shines is its ability to save the people around the wearer. It is designed with protective magic that gives the guards an enhanced ability to protect their masters.
This armor has 3 charges. As an action, you can expend one or more charges to cast the Protective Barrier spell. Each additional charge you expend beyond the first increases the spell level by one. The Breastplate regains 1d4 charge every day at dawn.
