The Gauntlets of Sight distill partial sentience on whatever weapon the wearer holds. This awakening causes the weapon to react and respond on its own. It is said that a sword held by the Gauntlets of Sight can learn from previous encounters and adjust its technique in future engagements.
The gauntlets were designed in secret by Jean DuBoix and Aleex Kaus, a pair of duelists that gained considerable notoriety during their careers. When their trick was discovered, they were both banned from the arenas and excised from the record books. Their folly led to the gauntlet-free fighting styles you see in the Vasteel dueling circuits today.

When another creature damages you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d6. Every time the same creature damages you, add an additional 1d6 to this ability up to a total of 3d6.
