Among the dwarves, the clan is more than family. It is their identity and protection. Nothing exemplifies this more than the decorative clan shields that many dwarves in the Dimlodir mines carry. The ornate pieces display the heritage and ancient family ties of their owners, but more importantly, they offer magical protection while among clans folk.
Mechanic
While holding this shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC. If you are within 5 feet of a friendly creature that also has a Clan Shield, the bonus increases to +2. The bonus is in addition to the shield’s normal bonus to AC.
