The tools belonging to Gafan, the founder of the famous Gnome workshop, have spent thousands of hours crafting and shaping magical items. It should not come as a surprise that some of that magic rubbed off on them. It is a legend among the Gnomes that Gafan’s tools became magically bonded with their master and eventually developed the ability to think and reason.
Trusted apprentices that were granted permission to use the tools said that they guided them as they worked through difficult parts of a project just as if Gafan were there telling them what to do.
This wrench can guide you through the process of creating an Iron Golem. To create the Iron Golem, you must spend 80,000 gp for the supplies, and work 60 days without interruption and resting no more than 8 hours per day.
Once you finish the Iron Golem, the Wrench must be closed inside the final construction. It acts as the creature’s power source and gives it a basic level of sentience. Once complete, the Iron Golem understands and obeys your spoken commands. The Wrench is destroyed if the golem falls below 0 hit points.
